I started feeding 2/1 sugar/water syrup to my colony (one hive, two deep brood boxes). They consumed three gals in 36 hours. Is there anything to be alarmed about here? This is my first year.

From what little I know, they will feed and put up stores as long as they can move.

Keep feeding, your hives are probably light on stores.

Sounds like those bees are mighty thirsty. Another 3 gallons and they should be good for winter. They'll probably take it in slower this time.
