When you release a queen into your hive, which way is the candy end suposed to face,up or down. And can you store extra supers, with the frames in them,on your porch or in an enclosed area?

Cages vary a bit. More important is that the screen side must allow easy access to the bees. Candy can face any direction other than up.

I think enclosed is better but in either case I would treat with a biological like Certan.

I usuaully put the queen cage with the screen down and the candy on the end. I use an imirie shim to make room for the cage.

I usually put the super somewhere they will freeze in the winter.
