Thread: fumidil-b

  1. #1

    Question

Fed bees in two hives 2:1 syrup mixed with fumidil-b in the fall and still have some mix remaining. I intend to dilute this mix for a spring feeding. Will I have to be concerned about the fumidil-b tainting any of the honey stored? There are several frames of honey still on the hives and I could mark them for segregation before I add my supers.

If the honey is in a brood box I'd leave them and never plan to extract them. If they are in a super, I'd pull the super before feeding them.

The honey is in the full super I left for winter stores. There is quite a bit remaining in both hives. I guess I'll mark these frames (this super, really) and leave them above the brood boxes throughout the year.

    Thanks for the reply!
