Talked to an older beekeeper that I've been helping when I have the time. The subject of open feeding came up and I mentioned that I was going to use floats in my buckets and he suggested useing straw he said that it gave the bees a better platform and alowed more to feed at a time with less drowning, he said just stick it down in the bucket and then pour your syrup in. Good idea IMHO.
