  6. Re: From Missouri, Interduction and questions

    gww

First you should find a local bee club and join.
They should offer a beginners class and have contacts for bees.
Beekeeping is very local in Mo. more so than most of the USA.
    You are a lot...

Re: A Queen and 1 worker

I think they were in the exit pipe or under the feeder jar?
When the hive warmed up is when we saw the others.

Old foragers are better than no bee's.
The Queen was checking cells last night and...

Re: Feeding honey back to the bees

    Bigfish

If it is warm enough for the bees to fly just set the deep hive box out side with a frame or two in it.
They will clean it up fast and you wont have to open the hive.

    I save my frames...
  11. Re: in need of a used beekeeping suit

Go to your local building supply store and get a $5.00 Tyvec painters suite.
Most used suit,s are stained or need repaired.
I don't use a suit but keep one of these in the truck just in case.
  12. Re: What else do I need for my first year?

If you can try to get at least 1 frame per hive that is already drawn out. This will help with the hive getting started faster.
Ask around at the local club or your mentor. Even if it is dark you...

    Re: Documenting tools

That is one f the reasons we went with the Go-Pro.
With the push of a button you can go from video to still pictures and back.

  22. Re: Missouri Environmental Public Health crack down

If the Health Specialist get there way we wouldn't even be able to do it that way. We will have to take our honey to a (certified kitchen) to have it extracted before we can sell it for resale.
