I'm not saying it wont work, BUT it goes against everything I have read and been taught.
Hello & Welcome
Hello & Welcome Lance
Merry Christmas & Happy New Years Everyone!
Check out harbor freight if you have one near by. I picked up a lighted magnifier for around $30 bucks.
I dont know what it cost but Moultrie had a game cam that transmits pictures to your computer. I think it uses AT&T wireless? I'll do some looking and see if i can find a link..
I'm new to raising queens as well, but it is my understanding you need to protect the cells from bright light and direct heat.
Setting on boards is the same way I have mine set up
Same here, going on 3 months in the containers and no signs of molding.
Thanks for the replies
Being new to keeping bees, I didn’t want to take any unnecessary chances.
Plus right now, I don’t have any place to keep them in the dry and away from critters.
First, If this is not in the correct place, please move it for me.
Looking for some advise. The frames I extracted this year, I left out for the bees to clean.
When they were done I froze the...
I got started late building my incubator this year. But I hope to make good use of it next spring. After reading everything I could find on this site and the Internet, this is what I came up with....
I'm pretty new to the bee keeping stuff, but something I have found to help my 2 hot hives. That is thinned out sugar water. Add a little Honey B Healthy to sugar water and mist them once the hive is...
I'll second the Beekeeping for Dummies book as a good read with lots of good info.
As of now there is no info on the global map. Just pin markers. From what I have gathered watching one of Hive tracks videos, they are thinking about adding info at some point. It will be Optional if...
Try clicking on the global map link at the top of the page. There you should see other local hives.
I'm using a home made decapper. I made a wooden box that fits over a meat pan. Put a hurricane strap on the top bar so the frames dont move around.
I used a short piece of board and trimmed the corners down to fit in the hex head. snugged it by hand but dont get to carried away.
At the top of the hive tracks page you will see a link called my map. Click on the link and it will take you to your map. click on your orange pop up balloon / pin and drag it over to your real...
It is web based. I enter stuff with my Thunderbolt phone and it shows up on what ever computer I might be using. I also like the fact it gives me a QR code for each hive. Just scan it like a bar code...
I'll have to give this one a try and see how it does, but so far i'm sold on Hive Tracks.
Thanks for the link
X2 on this one. Works great with the 18 guage air stapler / nailer
I really like my Brushy Mtn extractor. Dont know anything about the Mann lake but I hear it is a nice one as well.
Like you, I purchased while I had the funds available. NO regrets...
I helped my girl friends mom pull 2 supers yesterday. Both were full with capped honey.
Figured that was a good excuse to break in the new extractor. We averaged right at 1 quart of honey per frame....
