    1811 Put in package April 6 and they are building rapidly. Very good cone building will take pictures asap. No cross comb at all.

    Only robbing I have is with a feral hive of black bees I have been trying to get a swarm from. Located the tree but haven't gotten a swarm yet. I sit between them sometimes without any problems...

    I have 2 TBHs facing @4' and don't have a problem been that way since last May. Bees are like Hueys they can go striaght up.

    Hopkin, They shouldn't any more that with a lang, but if they do i'll remove the follower board and cut and move each one in turn as with any top bar.

    By the way, if you take a good dose of sulpher and molasses they are less prone to stick and less prone to infect if they do. Don't know how safe that part is, but I was given a BIG dose each Spring...

    put powdered sulpher in a sock and each time you head to the woods dust your legs, boots, and pant legs with the sock. No red bugs (chiggers) or ticks. No odor or side effects.

    I use single strength (1/8"). I don't use a lot of hammers around my hives and I try to be gentle while working the bees.

    I have mine on three cinder blocks with the entrance about five feet from the six foot fence, they have no problem going up and over. If you have a six foot fence on all sides I wouldn't worry about...

    Silicone will adhere to plexiglass but sometimes you have to use steelwool to rough up the very edge and clean with alcohol. The rosin in the pine will eventully allow the silicone to let go of...
