A challenge - Just noticed that the Canadian Astronaut liked PB & honey sandwiches. Saw this video and am curious if you can ID the brand of honey

Indeed. The coil spring has the advantage of compressing flat, can be affixed with a hammer and staples, and is comprised of just stiff wire. I think most commercial smokers use these.
The gotcha...
I know about the lungs. I've used them before. However, smoke induced resperatory illness kills about 4 million people a year. About 1/3 of the worlds population still cooks over a fire. You may...
I've looked at it. It may work, but it also makes it so the smoker cann't be set down. I've got 2 other alternatives that seem more promising. A coiled spring inside made from wrapping wire around a...
Got caught up with work. Solved a tough geospatial problem, landed a big contract, had to hire a bunch of people, then manage the growth. All that distracted me from beekeeping.
Back to the 3-can...
Here is the design and instructions of this smoker: http://learningbeekeeping.com/beekeeping-articles/bee-smoker-design-for-third-world-beekeeping/

The manufacturer is targeting pest control, not beekeepers. So it is a marketing focus problem.
You may just want to convert an 8 frame deep. See

Hey, it is nice to see my book reviewed and posted here on BeeSource! Good timing, too. Winter is the best time to build swarm traps, so folks should read the book and get to work building swarm...
Yea, I like that blog, too. Never heard of it before, glad you pointed it out.
Hi! Some know me from my YouTube beek channel. Well, I accidentally got sidetracked and wrote a beekeeping book while trying to prepare for an ambitious DVD beekeeping project.
I've just finished...
Yep, two of the nominees have 25,000 subscribers to my humble 700. I'm afraid the voting power is proportionate as well. But we'll try!
Woot Woot! Many already know I have the biggest beekeeping channel on YouTube.
YouTube has just nominated my beekeeping channel, OutOfaBlueSky, for YouTube's On-the-Rise competition....
I'd solve the problem the same way I solved it for skunks

I made some videos on how to make easy Top Bars.
Don't do it the hard way.

It is true. TBH are not good in the North. No TBH has survived near the north pole or in Antarctica to date.
However, I've hear rumors of one in Spitzbergen.
I'd easily take 4 bars safely. Especially if pollen is already coming in.
I concur with that, don't remove them from a tree. Free bees from bee trees are not free bees at all. 7 hours later, you might have a hive that has a 66% chance to survive.
Swarm traps are easy...
Yes. I was at the Williamson County Beek meeting this month, and I'll be at the next one, and I'm presenting at the Cen Tex meeting as well in late Feb.
And there are more videos you should check...
Somewhere I saw a company offering frames with top bars that are V shaped for foundationless beekeeping. But Mann Lake, Brushy Mountain and Dadant don't have them.
Does anyone know who makes...
Glad to see folks enjoying my videos. Clint was a good speaker than night.
Does anyone know if he is the Clint Walker III, who is on the National Honey Council?
Forget the lure, just just Lemon Grass oil which does the exact same thing and much much cheaper.
I put out 10 traps last year and caught 6 swarms. The trick is to put them out before you get busy with other things. Spring is chaotic for beeks.
So nice to be endorsed. I meant to make some follow up videos on bee-lining. But got sidetracked on bait hives after I had a banner year of catching swarms. I've now got 30 bait hives to do a grand...
