Re: Ant Problem - Please advise!!

    Agreed

    Re: Why Beekeep?

As an Iraq Combat Veteran, I took to beekeeping to reduce stress and help focus my attention & skills on something positive.
When I came back I struggled for a long time. Getting into beekeeping...

    Re: Can't upload photos?

Yeah, I've seen some people on here get bent out of shape over pictures being posted.
I don't know why. I think they are extremely useful.
In particular, I can recall some fussing by one or two...

    Re: Can't upload photos?

The easiest way for me to post pics is to use either Facebook or Photobucket to upload the pics to and then copy the URL and then past it into "from URL" and uncheck "Retrieve remote file and...

    In mine it's multiple bees.
I did some reading about these Kentucky bees and it said, our bees are especially interesting to biologists because many species have evolved to live in social colonies...

    Re: Honeybee? or Not?

    Mason Bee.
I have these too on my property, but the type I have are not solitary.
They live in a colony with no queen.
I have attached a pic of a Garden Gnome that I cut open to have a look at...

    Re: Alternative to beekeeper gloves

    Thick enough to prevent stings.
I found them at Lowes and they only cost like $12.
  11. Re: Help! Neighbours bees attracted to our Ipe decking

Meh, maybe I was a bit grumpy but it's I've had to deal with too many of these hover-parents.
I understand she is just trying to take care of her kids, but let kids be kids and stop being so overly...
  12. Re: Help! Neighbours bees attracted to our Ipe decking

    Now, that's a good ideal.
  13. Re: Help! Neighbours bees attracted to our Ipe decking

This why neighbors, especially over protective parents suck.
Those are carpenter bees. They have nothing to do with a honeybee hive.
Quit blaming you neighbor just because you see a bee.
    Put some...

    Re: Opinions/Advice on Removal

I know...I thought volume was a deciding factor when they chose a place to go but here they are.
