i have always over-wintered in one deep and a super of stores just wanted to try 2 deeps. last spring i lost 4 good hives to bad weather( bees flew off and on all winter) was thinking 2 deeps of bees...

i have kept bees for many years but have never tried making splits can some one walk me though it?
you could take one or two frames of sealed brood without any bees on it from the big hive and give it to the weaker hive
maybe even time to requeen the weak one too
