A good junk deep box with frames a lid and a bottom board is all you need.
I did one like that with a cedar shake roof. They went to the top of the ridge board. Due to the lay of the land. I removed them through the roof. A 40' Valley of the end of the roof but a porch...
Glad I don't have to move it all day long. To big and heavy for me. For the ? On glueing glue top. then put top bar on staple flip and do over on the bottom.
A lot of things would work.. FRB board would work. Used in commercial walls in the restrooms. A dumpers dive.
The metal strip from weather stripping. With the rubber removed. Or the j track or starter track for siding.
One way for the water that works well is water in a big drum and water plants that float. Or any thing else that floats but gives small openings. Maybe even just Palm leaves floating.
I have used a steel garbage can. And my commercial wallpaper steamer. Work fine if they are good frames for junk frames I found it faster to use a wash tub with my fish fryer. Pour a few gallons of...
I have a easyer one to make, but it takes two people to use it. Cut a 8' 2-4 in half. 1/2" holes drill so the hive will sit in between the rods. An a couple small peice of metal screwed to the bottom...
I think he is referring to a jumbo.
I have moved to using a stape gun instead of the eyelets. The one part of putting wax on frames that I hated. A little air stape gun like for upholstery
Most likely no. But why use it for wooden wear. Tie bond glue is cheaper easyier to use, stronger and I have seen construction glue fail.
I find them a PAIN the first thing I do is put my first box on the lips of a lid. So I dont crush bees
Mine where to at one yard.
Or a thought if you really like your genetics. If you have time pull a frame or two in the spring make a nuc. And keep it. Then sell the over winter hives. The best of both worlds.
A note book works for me. A tab page for each yard. Thinking about adding a bricks to help keep me straight.
On a lot of plans their is a second hole just put some screen across it. Window or number 8
Give me time to build equipment. Got 500 deep frames to do and 70 boxes to make and paint. 100 frames done and about 15 boxes done.
All my surplus drawl equipment become a swarm trap. I leave it all in the field.
I use my friends power shear. It cut 3/8 plate steel all day long. I trim them as I want.
Kalamazoo club buys a bunch as I understand it. But I don't know if they re ship. I plan on visiting my mom's went they come in.
I run two deeps and then med supers with some shallows. The shollows for on top of tall hives or cut comb. Doing palmer type nuc. Plus a bunch of other nuc boxes. Nw Ohio .
Tried and went back to wire. I couldn't get the line tight enough when I was tying the knot.
As a contractor it is all most a joke. A way for them to make money. To get good listing or more exposure with them I have to pay them. Now that a couple of customers have given me favorable rating....
I agree with ycitybz. And may pulled a frame up.
