    I have been using a setup similar to yours Mr.Beeman..... Just set up with a Quart jar on my inner cover..... Still too cold where I am for them to make much of it so I still have a sugar block...

    They should do ok as long as they have enough food.... Building comb takes a lot of sugar and remember that they won't take syrup if it is cold (below 50F or so)..... Dry (or slightly damp) sugar...

    +1 on what camero7 said..... They will do better in the hive than they will in the package box.... Keep in mind that bees will typically not take syrup if it is below 50F or so.... Feed dry sugar...

    Depending on the temperature they may not take syrup..... If that is the case where it is still too cold you may want to feed dry sugar or sugar bricks.....

    You might try a local (or online) beer/wine hobby store..... I make my own wine/beer/mead and have several that I bought locally that I use that might fit what you are looking for.....
