    @ Oldtimer - I have thought about a jig and I am thinking of a clamp and just tighten it up and then wire in, tie off and then release clamp.

    cheaper , easier to get and easier to use (I think) but not 100% sure of any of this. Still havent really made my mind up on this one on fishing line over wire.

    thats good to know. I was aware people do frames foundation-less but I want to extract the honey in a radial extractor and I am concerned with out any support the comb will fall apart.

    mine have mesh floors, bottom entrances and stand about 18inch of the floor so I shouldnt have issues with flooding.

    Good luck getting them through winter, having them indoors should help loads.
