    3 frame medium? I wouldn't even sell a 3 frame medium nuc to a customer. 5 is minimum. If the queen in the nuc is already laying and has a proven pattern you don't run the risk of having a bad queen...

    Ian, I run water in my Cowen heater. I set it to 200 but when operating, the actually temp is around 150f. Does the oil actually heat up to 200?

    They also use scrap wood that might not be uniform. Not that it matters lol. It's a pallet after all.:D

    Bumble bees are not carpenter bees. I have a bumblebee nest in the ground next to one of my yards(40 hives) and see them every year. There is an increase of bumblebees in my area every year.

    Most of my pallets are 3/4 AC plywood dipped in Copper. Some were dipped in Linseed. The newer ones are HDO with the runners dipped in copper.

    I use only internal frame feeders same as Jim described. Can't imagine doing it any other way. I also run a gear pump with a honda gx and can't agree on it any more than Jim. Never had any issues....

    I like to place the queen cells in the middle of brood nest with either a cell protector or some aluminum foil wrapped around the cell. Duct tape also works.
