    Re: Apple Pollination rates

I only have one small apple job for 32 hives. It is a 2 hour drive to get there. I currently charge $90.
  2. Re: Help needed with Dept. of Transpotation Requirments?

In Ohio for example you can have 26k truck hauling 10k trailer with no CDL. For a total of 36k.

Looks at flow chart on page 5...

    Re: Commercials Using MAQS

Also used them myself last year. Overwintered well enough to make my increase and sell a surplus of 100 nucs in the spring. I'm very happy with them, especially when I remember the year before I...

Re: 600 hive operation extractor options

Just got a bee blast from Mann Lake. They have the 114 (102 segmented) frame extractor on sale for $4500. I have no experience with it other than what i read in their catalog, but I thought it...
  6. Re: How do you wind down your colonies as the season draws to an end?

Sorry my mistake, thought this was the commercial beekeeping area.
  7. Re: How do you wind down your colonies as the season draws to an end?

[QUOTE=sqkcrk;830289]Isn't this another discussion?QUOTE] Well I guess it could be. I only posted because I did not think it made sense to tell someone winding down for the season to leave uncapped...
  8. Re: How do you wind down your colonies as the season draws to an end?

I agree normally, but what if your uncapped honey is testing at 16.5 to 17.1 like ours is this year due to the extremly dry weather?

    Re: Sideliner wanna be questions

Great suggestion. I also run two extractors a 60 and 72 frame and I think your right about the idea that it quickens the operation.

I would like to add what I consider the biggest advantage to...

    Re: MAQS Checkbacks

Had good weather to go through about 300 of my hives last week. Only brought in 4 dead hives. Compared to the winter before when I brought in over 300 dead hives by Jan 1 this is great.

    I am...

    Re: Maqs

Don't know if my input will be useful or safe ;) After bringing in 80% of my hives last winter due to poor mite treatment I needed a new plan. This year I used MAQS for my main treatment.

    We...

    Pollen Collection

Any of you larger operators collecting large amounts of pollen?

I know it will vary by area, but I was wondering on average how much can be collected from each hive in a year.
