    Re: Burnt tasting honey

If you are selling it at retail do not sell as "B" grade. One odd thing about retail "raw" honey customers is that they vary widely in what they want. Here we get a really dark, almost black, honey late...

Re: Closing entrance for 3 days after splitting

I put my nucs on screened bottoms,(homemade) and close the entrance overnight. Open entrances next morning but only with a one or two bee size opening. Nucs are kept in my home apiary and the ones...

    Re: Bees in the Soffit

Some of the posters are ignoring,or missed, the fact that they must be moved before the end of February. Since that is the case, pick a day above 50 degrees and do the cut out.If the bees die,they...

Re: Ethical feeding for non beekeeper question

I assume the op meant feeding during late winter/early spring before there is honey being stored. In that case I see nothing wrong with feeding provided you keep a constant supply. If you do this be...

Re: Vitex or Chaste Trees - locations

Give them space. Our mature trees are about 20 feet tall and 15 or so feet in diameter. They are not bushes in the way I think of bushes. They might be described as bushy trees since they sprout...

    Re: Wintergren oil quesion ?

If you have anything at all to back up that statement I would like to see it. In over 30+ years of using grease patties I have never seen a small hive beetle on,or near,a grease patty. Perhaps you...

Re: Preparing a hive for hurricane?
