Thanks everyone! I will check the hive I thought was Queenless today. Last week there was still a lot of capped brood but no larva or eggs. If there is still no eggs a will add the nuc.

How should I go about combining a thriving Nuc with a hive that has gone queenless. I don't want to just ad the queen from the Nuc but the entire Nuc.

I allways have a upper enterance/ventilation slot. I think it helps them regulate the temp as well as get rid of excess moisture.

Is it safe to use borax around hives to discourage ants?

Hi, I'm starting my second year of beekeeping. Started last year with a Package and a Nuc, Itailian and Carniolan. Both have made it through the winter!! Looking forward to a new season.
