    LOL, good pooint rniles, but yes the bees are included in the price with a queen.
    The boxes are singles.

    How did you start and expand?

    Hello all,

    Last year I started with 4 hives, total 560 pounds. Beginers Luck for sure!
    I would like to know how many you started with, and how you grew in hive numbers to where you are at now....

    All of our boxes were deeps,
    We used 2 deeps, then a queen excluder, the deep supers on top.
    We did harvest as we went along, so we could see the product and sell it.
    I've heard some don't get any...

    Sure, bought the 4 hives with 10 deep frames all drawn out, full of bees and a queen each.
    I fed them sugar water 2:1 with a boardman feeder at the entrance for a few weeks-
    I filled the mason jars...

    I extracted today, 50 pounds per deep box. 10 deep frames-5 pounds each, 50 pounds average.
    Extracted 175pds in a 4 frame extractor=long day!

    Thanks Vance, great advice. It's tough for me to go slow, but I do think that's best as well. I have a partner in our 4 hives and we bought a new 4 frame deep extractor. So maybe 20 hives next year...
