    Well...the carpenter ants can't get into the hive anymore...I made posts in cans of oil...but....they already did their damage...the whole hive 2 10 frame deeps was destroyed by them...ant larva all...

    Ant War Final Outcome....

    Well....the battle waiged on.

    I put the hives up on posts and greased the posts...to no avail...buggers just crawled over it...I put smooth alum 4 inch tape on the top of the posts...they crawled...

    Went out to check the hive this am...last night was not really to cold 40 to 45 degrees.

    I saw about 8 to 10 dead bees on the front entry of the hive...and one was a little larger than the other...

    Bee's wax production?

    Question.....As the bees hold honey in their abdomins and produce wax , is the same true if they hold the sugar water I make for them?
