    That depends on the size of trap and swarm. They can outgrow their space. 2 weeks would be my max time for a 10 frame size box, by then you should be able to construct some kind of home for them....

    Last year I had em checking out a swarm trap on the back of my truck, down at the bee yard in the empty 10 frame boxes and the other two swarm traps. They chose the one on the elevated deck.

    I would say normal confusion caused by the robber screen. Notice the pollen on the back legs of the bees trying to get in. Robbers don't bring pollen.

    Welcome to the forum. I started by building some swarm traps. Got one swarm out of 9 traps.
    If you catch one that would save the cost of the bees which could be applied to boxes and frames....

    Why not split into a nuk. Then feed the nuk offspring back into the parrent hive. You have 2 queens laying and all growth goes into the big hive.
