    Why not the other way around , A tbh with a lang on top as a honey box , bees can be bees down in the TBH and the beekeeper can harvest honey in a modern extractable frame/box on top !

    Top bar hives in the cold North

    What kind of problems can one encounter with tbh in cold climates with long cold winters and short summers?
    I'm thinking Northern Canada , Alaska , or other harsh climates , near the arctic circle...

    Creosote should never bee used in contact with soil , it contaminates the soil and is easily transferred to fruit and vegetables making them not fit for consumption.:eek::eek:

    some aphids don't suck sap , the capillary pressure pushes the sap through the aphid producing a droplet that some ants harvest.

    The dark honey tastes like toffee but don ´t tell beecause...

    There was some one that did studies on the purity of wax , all the wax they tested had pesticides in it even wax from deep in the amazon jungle.

    You will bee better of with lighter colours.

    In the summer dark hives will beecome to hot in the sun = the wax might melt , or the bees will spend a lot of there time to try to cool down the hive...

    Think about what time of day it is + weather conditions .

    Its easier to go into a hive when most of the bees aren't home.

    = not as many to fight with :D
