    20 ACRES

    A neighbor dropped by asking what to plant on 20 acres to help bees out.
    I'm not sure if she wants me to place my bees or her own I have to see here property its about 2 miles up the road...

    Hive A swarmed a primary swarm
    I caught the swarm it had a 2013 marked queen and decided to do a paper combine with hive B but removed queen and placed her in new nuc to be kept as a spare ....

    You can try spraying some Honey robber or Fisher's bee-quick into the cavity
    It might help getting them out.

    But on the positive side your swarms are a easy pick in the vineyard no ladders required

    My use of vinegar
    I use a windex bottle mix a touch of vinegar with water then mist my hot spots wrists and socks
    And bees keep away

    How much salt would one use say for a 5 gal. bucket ? Would sea salt be better

    Well from now on each super gets marked as supers are placed ex. hive 1 first super A next one B .
    That way I can keep track which hive and how many supers it produced per year

    I never did look for the Qeen when taking supers off
    Excluder on and honey robber and she still stayed who would guess

    Hope she is back home and yes it was one of my own queens

    My only weak spot is the wrist area with my short gloves .
    I mist them with a solution of vinegar/water it works for me .

    Yes your right I did not work bare handed Will have to try

    I made a muff a 5 gal. paint strainer and put a 1/8 wire mesh inside to make a dome

    Worked perfect for a guy with big hands
