    This is my first year with a Mann Lake jacket. Still too early to tell how the zippers will hold up, but I sure do enjoy the difference from cloth to mesh. I will never be without one from here on.

    They can handle the hot water, but you don't need it scalding either. I never try to scrape the filters, just flush with hot water from the back side.

    I bought in 2013 and have no complaints. Runs smooth and makes very little noise. I bolt mine down to a half sheet of 3/4 in. plywood.

    I would just rap on the box to see if they are alive. If the hive has some heft to it, I would call it good til warmer weather. I would only open the hive if it is light and needs sugar.
