    Re: Business decision

Ben, I was in a similar situation to yours 11 years ago. Working, but wanting to go full-time bees. Contrary to what some said, I thought the best choice was to buy enough hives to float the business...

Re: Nosema spore counts this fall

Are these Arataki or Kintail packages?
  3. Re: Canadian prairie and northern US honey crop outlook

Jean-Marc, I'm curious about splitting so late. We run our bees in the North (not Peace north, but north enough) and then move them south for winter to Niagara, so perhaps a similar situation. ...

    Re: Large scale Nuc production

Pallets of 4 doubles, or singles if they didn't get big enough for a second box. Wrapped 2 together. We're in Niagara, quite mild...but damp, which isn't ideal.

    Re: Large scale Nuc production

Grozzie: That is certainly not the case in ON. I don't know of anyone here that is building nucs purely for the purpose of sales. There are some people that sell nucs every year of course, but as...

    Large scale Nuc production

I'm reconsidering what I do with our hives after we bring them back to ON after maritime blueberry pollination. Currently we have been taking the thousands we send and busting them apart at a rate of...

    Re: commercial pollen sub

The vast majority of us in Canada use global...but we know it's not so good. For 3 seasons now, I've been mixing my own with great success.

However, I'd like to buy some of Keith's. Do you...

    Re: Moffett / Princeton forklifts

Glad you see it that way. I certainly wasn't trying to brag. But for what I do, I'm happy with it. I've used other machinesn including hummerbees, and theyre too unstable and need too much room for...

    Cranberries. Anyone fed during?

We've been moving ALL of our hives to cranberries for the last 8 yrs...with different amounts of success. I know that strong bees in; means strong bees out. I know that feeding pollen sub makes an...

    Feeder Frames

Hi guys. Has anyone moved bees with frame feeders full. We have fed thousands with feeders that have a cap and ladder, but have not moved them full. I think I might like to. Any thoughts?

    Re: Moffett / Princeton forklifts

I know this is old.....piggy backs are all we use. We run 5000 hives. I have never met someone who can load bees faster and smoother than we can with our 1980's Brouwer hitchhiker forklifts. We...
