I use the Mann Lake screened bottom board and close it during the winter. Works well for me.
>> What a feeling it is to see them flying after wondering if they made it or not.
That's for sure. Today was the first day to get into bees here in Minnesota, with a high of 57. I just wish it...
It would be interesting to add import totals to this and be able to see what total supply was.

You should have made the reserve higher.
I have to throw in one more comment here.
I just got one of the nastiest emails I ever received, from David Eyre. He might be a very competent beekeeper, but don't even consider offering any...
>> Am I interpreting your comments correctly, BeeBear? From your statements, I conclude that you believe Minnesota's program is ineffective. What don't you like about the program? How is it...

I found the poll confusing since if you choose "no" on the first question, the rest don't make any sense.
I would be thrilled to have an effective program, but I don't think there's much chance of...
I can't say that I've read every word of every post in this thread, but I've come to a conclusion.

Bees are pretty durable, and pretty forgiving of beekeeper mistakes. I think that's one of the things that attracts me to beekeeping.
A corollary of this is that the authors of books about...
