Apricot started 4/18. Peach starting to open today. bees visiting dandelion..bringing both tan and orange pollen.

Groton, CT 06340 6a 11:00am 62 degrees calm clear maples full bloom 3/4 of returning bees with full baskets.

8:00 am 47 degrees calm and bright lots of bees flying no pollen
2:00 pm 59 degrees light breeze bright still lots of bees flying about 1 in ten with fair to good load of light tan-khaki pollen

06340 zone 6a Bees bringing yellow pollen looks like skunk cabbage

just watched the iwf.de video on rearing queens. the "under hive body" my term, looked interesting.. anybody have or know of any specifics, drawings ...

started winter with a candy board as inner cover, 1 inch of styrofoam and then the top. (most migratory and a few telescoping ) will probably look at them next week weather permiting.

Bees were starting a few flights here in SE CT until this COLD snap 11 now 10 colonies, tree fell :(. Some looked strong around the first. a couple doubtfull
