    whatever size box you have..10frm,8 frm,5 frm....just another box underneath it only 1 1/2" high. Just gives it that much space from the bottom of the brood box down to the entrance landing board.

    In the article they spoke of how they were grinding off the brands. Branding will only get you so far. Unpainted hives will not last very long...a couple coats of paint will make then last a lot...

    Well thank you then. One reason I havent made more slatted racks is because quite frankly they are a pain to make correctlly!! I will be making several of these shims for my hives over the winter.
