If it doesn't work out, let me know, I might be interested.
  2. Re: parts needed for 2 frame honey extractor

Thanks. I'll look into that. I got this as a package deal used from someone that was retiring several years ago. It was the extractor, uncapping tank, buckets, hot knives, tons of boxes. It all...

  4. Re: Lady drops bottle of honey and wants me to replace it.

I had a guy at a farm market drop a glass jar on the way back to the car. He came back and told me what happened sounding like he expected me to replace his accident. Even though I didn't have to,...

    Re: Electric Embedder

Thanks to all for the information. I ended up picking up a 12.6V 3A transformer from Radio Shack. Worked great.
  6. Re: Should I super a queenless colony that is full

In my experience they will produce even more honey if they are queenless because they don't have brood to take care of. As others have said; super them.

    Re: Transformer For Embedding Device

I picked up a transformer from Radio Shack. 12.6V 3A was what they had in stock. You just have to make sure that your transformer is rated for 2A or so.

    Re: Electric Embedder

Thanks. I'll give that a try. I'm hoping to pickup something locally to save some money/shipping fees.

Worst case, I'll just wire in a 12V battery to the embedder and use it like that.

    Re: Electric Embedder

Ah, you might be correct. This one is rated for 16V, 10VA. Which, if my electronics math is correct, is only .625A.

Re: Eyelets stick to eyelet tool

Thanks for all the advice. I am seating the eyelet into the wood with 2 taps of the hammer. Sounds like the tool might be just a little too big. Maybe I'll try filing it down just a bit and see if...

Re: dry sugar poured in deeps ?

If the hives feel light, I typically dump it on the inner cover around the hole. When the weather is warm enough for them to move around they are often up there munching away at it. Additionally, I...

Re: Buying local honey to supliment crop

I'm struggling with it not being "mine" but I would hate to miss out on the chance to break into the new market, and if I don't, someone else will.
