  1. It's great to do inside removals during rainy conditions (video)

    .

Here's a removal I did the other day where I had to use the priceless and indispensable Honey B Gone,
which makes bees move/fly when needed. It's all natural, by the way.

    My apologies...
  2. Re: Anyone in Tampa, FL area care to help with this one - HIGH up in tree?

    .

You people in the Tampa area are BABIES!

Come on - this thing shouldn't be that big of a deal....lol.

    .
  3. Re: Anyone in Tampa, FL area care to help with this one - HIGH up in tree?

    .

And aren't the Africanized gals more prone to building on exposed limbs?

    .
  4. Anyone in Tampa, FL area care to help with this one - HIGH up in tree?

    .

I almost got a broken neck looking up 35-40 feet to this exposed hive in Valrico, FL today.

I do removals, but this is beyond my reach (so-to-speak). I'm not experienced enough with trees,...
  5. Re: Removal using top bar hives - rainy conditions made nightmare at end

Yes, the biggest chore I have is cutting the combs to fit correctly. Sometimes there are small bits that have to be sacrificed.
  6. Re: My removal videos in all their true hi-def glory

Ha !! I was just thinking that today.

    You're right.

I'll just have to sign a deal with Netflix and they can rent out DVDs of my removals.

Ok, I just realized that this thread has probably...
  7. Re: My removal videos in all their true hi-def glory

    .

I think I may have an idea how we all can share hi-def videos with each other.

Whoever is interested would have to sign up for DropBox. www.dropbox.com

Then, we could all have a joint...
  8. Re: My removal videos in all their true hi-def glory

    Thanks for the attempt, Cleo.

I highly doubt the streaming was in hi-def. If there was ANY amount of blurryness, it was the compromised streaming version.

    .
  9. Re: My removal videos in all their true hi-def glory

    .

So the hi-def video is finally finished uploading to my DropBox folder.

Will someone be so kind as to see if it's possible to download and/or view the file in a decent amount of time?

    My...
  10. Re: My removal videos in all their true hi-def glory

    LOL, thanks.

Yes, but I tell you what - - other than the heat, that was one of my favorite removals I've done so far. And those bees are doing fantastically right now in my back yard. They...
  11. Re: My removal videos in all their true hi-def glory

Yeah, it's just an experiment. I think the internet still has a long way to go before we can experience such things fast.

It's actually STILL uploading to DropBox from my computer. BUt it only...
  12. Re: My removal videos in all their true hi-def glory

LOL, but you can do other stuff while it's loading !!!!!!

    It's SO worth it !!!

    .
  13. My removal videos in all their true hi-def glory

    .

So as you all know, when you edit a hi-def video and upload it to youtube, the quality
    and size get degraded severely.

I got to thinking that I would upload several of my original hi-def...
  14. Re: Does anyone have any of these laying around? Would make great top bar hives

The glass can have covers made so it would be just like any other top bar hive with viewing windows.

As far as a metal hive working, haven't you ever seen the part of "The Wizard of Oz" where the...

Re: Labor Day Weekend Cut-Out - Part 1

    Unbelievable.

Did they want it done for free?
  16. Re: Does anyone have any of these laying around? Would make great top bar hives

    .

I still haven't been able to procure an iron lung.

There must not have been that many made.
  17. Re: "Just come get them - - they are already in a "hive" " (video)

By the way, here's what I stab the comb on to when I do cut outs.

  18. Re: "Just come get them - - they are already in a "hive" " (video)

    Ha !!!

So I looked at the original, high quality version of my film, and I have decided that it's not the queen - although I had to look at it several times.

Also, from when I found it during...

Here's part 2 of this removal It was pretty much a second colony that I wasn't able to get on the first visit:

  20. Re: "Just come get them - - they are already in a "hive" " (video)

I've thought about Langs, yes. However, I'm just addicted to the top bar hives, even with their quirks. It's kind of like sticking with an old guitar because of the soul and sound it has rather...
  21. Re: "Just come get them - - they are already in a "hive" " (video)

    BeeMoose,

I really appreciate the compliment. I try to keep the action moving as much as I can. I don't think anyone should have to suffer through 6 minutes of a vacuum cleaner running.

    .
  22. Re: "Just come get them - - they are already in a "hive" " (video)

That sure does look like an interesting resolution.

However, I could imagine the looks on people's faces in nearby cars if I had a hive on that thing that's leaking bees at intersections. But,...
  23. Re: "Just come get them - - they are already in a "hive" " (video)

This cheap deal I slapped together for about 30 bucks.

I tried to upload the pdf file that has instructions on how to build, but the upload failed.

If anyone wants that file, message me with...

The customers are NEVER accurate in describing the circumstances.

    N-E-V-E-R.

But this removal was sorta fun anyhow - except for the heat.
  25. Re: Gotta vent about customers' expectations of charges

    .

So here's a conversation with someone today via email who needed a bee removal.
