    Re: honey Vodka

    I believe New Zealand is the only country where it is legal to distill alcohol at home.

    It is definitely not allowed in the US.

    I do not see how a SBB provides extra ventilation if you don't have a top entrance.

    Re: Vegans don't eat honey?

    So do you eat honey? If so, can you tell us why you think manipulating honeybees to get honey is not exploitation? How is it any different than a chicken farm?

    Re: Vegans don't eat honey?

    Right. You can argue with a vegan about microbes, apple pollination, caterpillars eating leaves, ants, ect. until you are blue in the face. They are going to look at you and say that you are the...

    Re: Vegans don't eat honey?

    I have looked into the vegan/honey situation quite a bit and the answer is much simpler than that. The takeaway for me is that vegans are against exploitation of any animal (or insect) for any...

    The Brandy was a big hit. I only brought a pint jar that was shared among several people. Everyone thought it was super smooth for being less than 48-hours old. At least I know what I am going to...

    Thanks for the hint.

    I made a batch of pyment a couple of years ago. I used honey and macerated Catawba grapes. It came out OK, if you like the taste of a handful of Sweet Tarts dissolved in...

    Servings per container 16 tablespoons
    Cost = $5.99 + $6.95 shipping and handling (I checked)

    At $0.81 per tablespoon they should be reported to the police.

    Re: Liquid Brewer's Yeast Question

    Why not just freeze it in quart-sized zip-lock bags? Then there is no worries about spoiling and exposion.

    The boiling would definitely kill the yeast. I am not sure about storage, but if you have the room, it wouldn't hurt to put it in the fridge.

    You may have had good luck, but I think that we are going to need to see some proof that VHS stock has "dramatically improved". The links in post 363 only provide personal anecdotal experience.
