40 days after placement
Could do that. Ive been looking for plastic clam shells that could hold a full frame. Just including the frame may be the better approach. I am hopefully the presentation is good some of these...
No wire.Set surplus in grooved frames 1st 5 are spoken for. Im out of town this week but will be placing the next 20 to 40 next week. Backberrys are next major bloom set and when they do those be...
Deeps, drawn on thin surpluses. Im cutting whole frame and packaging in bulk.
I got the customers lined up. Should have my 1st 30-40 pounds (wild flower) ready to process by this weekend.
This is my first go. What will be the going price this season?
Rio I love that hive dude. Is it bear proof? It sure looks it....
This box had 25 queen cells in it. They fasle swarmed so I pulled 2 splits.
Sorry I have not been keeping up 1st time I have logged in since last fall.
False swarm, I pulled 2 splits and split 2 others that looked pretty full. August 27, 2013 West Point CA 95255.
This is "right before I brushed them" and right after they make a break out from the trap box.
I did get them on a second attempt but they swarmed out as soon as the sun came up the next day....
Lost a small swarm out of one of my hives last night September 8, 2012. West Point Ca 95255. 3000'
I had a small swarm 1 lb. come out of my of my weaker hives last night. Caught them off the eve, had a full open entrance on the trap box and did not use any suger water spray. They bolted and landed...
close up during inspections
sounds like a wax moth hideing under the screen. I had the same thing going on last year
Missed the swarm on this hive, pulled two splits out of it. Ispection after splits still had 4 queen cells. Sorry one picture is a repeat from the queen cell post.
I don't see a queen cell in that picture. did it look anything like this?
Man I’m jealous.
That is a really awesome fort…
You could add a little hand crank crane arm to help get heaver things up and down. I would pull the 2x4 anti-personal obstacles out of the...
I need to say the grass stuffing saved one of my splits today from a hive raid by the parent hive.
I did splits for the 1st time yesterday. I Stuffed the reducer openings up with green grass, I have a book that suggests that is the way to do it.
Well she did not run like you desribe so I am thinking mated. She did stick to the frames pretty good and her wings looked small in proportion.
Funny when I let her back out she did not dive...
Sorry for the poor photograph, anyone care to give an opinion if this looks like a freshly hatched virgin/non-virgin queen? The hive had at least 7 queen cells in (found during a splitting)
Was that Stockton swarm on Grouse Run Dr in Stockton?
If it was how much did it weigh?
I was able to pick up 3 queens today (Thank you Sacramento Beekeeping Supply) and the weather hit 70 and forecast is for 70 – 80 over the next 4 days so I did splits and re-queened my weakest hive. ...
I was thinking using the drawn honey super to make "pretty" comb.
I will give it a try this season.
I was going to attempt to produce some grade A comb this season (Maybe county fair entry)and had a few questions on super stacking order and if it affects comb quality.
Does it make any...
