    Re: Chilean Queens

I think a lot of the issues with acceptance/superseding is the shipping conditions and timeline they go through. One more reason to try relying on over wintered nucs for making splits and...

    Re: Chilean Queens

Truthfully, I don't really know. It was the first place that our province imported from in Cali. Either way the prices this year will still be bad from the US and money is tight for me right now.

    Re: Chilean Queens

    Re: Chilean Queens

I think I can just bite the bullet and deal with some meanies and requeen with my own raised queens as I need it.
It's painful to have 37-40 dollar queens get superseded or do poorly. It's...

    Re: buying a cappings spinner?

I suppose, maybe he will have to melt it all down to get it out and just feed it back to the bees in spring.

    Re: buying a cappings spinner?

Is your honey too thick ? We have a Jr spinner (which I know is too small for us but only what I could afford to buy this year) and it works fine for cappings, I think if you have stored your...

    Re: Smoker Fuel

I like to use Burlap from a coffee roaster, so easy and clean to deal with. The only pain is cutting it up into strips, I suppose one of those paper slicers would work faster :)

    hose for pumping honey

What diameter hose is best to pump honey through to a canister filter ? I didn't want too big of a diameter because it will require more honey to fill the hose up.
    Thanks.
