    Yup you are correct. But, sometimes the queen dies when you capture the swarm so you have to check to make sure you got her. She is in the middle of the pile usually.

    If all you are getting is bullet looking brood then you have a laying worker. Dump them infront of a nuc and start over. Or introduce a frame of eggs/brood from another hive once a week for 2-3 weeks...
