Re: Weatherproof / Writable Hive Tags

    Thanks! Pencil!!!

I have used rather expensive waterproof felt pens but since the Xylene is gone the pens are no good. A pencil it is. Best ideas are so simple.
  4. Re: Small scale extraction set up? Up to 20 hives..

    I have now 30 hives.
We have an Electric uncapping knive, a couple of squer tubs to uncap into and a 4 frame , motorised extractor, some plastic buckets with strainer...that is it.
  5. Re: How do you apply the lemon grass oil or swarm commander on a swarm trap?

I do the same. The Q-tip will be found outside a hive after a few days

Re: Rendering Beeswax from Brood Frames

I have to agree. I use a fairly large boiler and place about 14 Full Size frames inside, boil up the water with the frames, shake off the rubbish.
I get fairly clean frames but very little wax. The...

Re: Management changes for flow hive

Don't you believe it. The kudos, magic of having a hive in the yard is huge.
I have clients who pay me much more to take care and harvest the honey than the honey is ever worth retail.
