    disinfect with glacial acetic acid. Spray the top bars and stack. It will kill nosema, if that's what you have. It also kills and repels wax moths.

    Since you don't know what killed them I would disinfect them with a mild bleach solution or with acetic acid - which is reputed to kill nosema.

    I'd mist them with a weak bleach solution myself, let them dry and then use them.

    I would use a cappings scratcher on the frame of honey closest to the cluster... it will make it easier for the bees to utilize the honey.

    Remember - dysentery is not normally a sign of nosema ceranae - the most common type of nosema in N. America.

    I agree with Dan. I use OAV but start in early August and do it 4X a week apart. That's the only way I get good strong winter bees.

    I don't know how helpful it is but I added some to my sugar blocks [ala Laurie] and had great success wintering my nucs. I don't use it in my syrup. I will use it in the sugar blocks again.
