  1. Re: There has to be a better way (moving hives)

I have seen a neat -looking block&tackle that fits on the side rail of a pickup. Might try Harbor Freight or Tractor Supply. Wasn't very expensive.

You are in the right place. You can learn an awful lot here. Even "old" bee-keepers learn here.

    Epi-Pen

Got a 2-dose unit of Epi-Pen last year that out-dated in 8 months. I thought it should last at least a year. Does anyone know if it's still any good after more than a year? 2 years?

  5. Re: How to ask neighbors not to spray pesticides?!

I had the same problem with the small ants, lots of them! I bought some "Ant Traps", little round flat things with holes in the sides and put them very close to hive on the ground and placed a board...

    Hive Tracks?

This is probably not the correct location but I am searching for the Web Site/E-Mail of Hive Tracks. For some reason, I'm "rejected" every time I do a Google search!

    Re: Ventilated bottom board

Exactly what I did the last 3 years. Occasionly I forgot to add the "sticky board" without the "sticky", and they still made it even with temps down to 0-20 degrees!

    Sting Question

Maybe some of the medical folks could comment on different stings. Is there a difference between the toxin of a honey bee and a red or black wasp?

Re: Ants, Ants and more Ants

Last year I had the same type of ants. They actually started to nest under the top cover. I got a couple of "Ant Traps", little round unit with holes in them that have ant poison. I laid these on the...

    Re: Attitude of Bee keepers?

About 1957 I was given a hive box and became interested in bees. Bought the book, "ABC & XYZ of Bee-Keeping" and read it completely. Several times. Accedently met a man about 65 years old who had...

What is a simple method of feeding crystallized honey back to the hive? Assuming that I've reliquifyed it in glass bottles?

  15. Re: Interesting experiment - Megabee and Corn Meal

Last year, I fed corn bread to some chickens and the bees seemed to really like it. Didn't think about giving them any beans. We may have discovered something! Can we patent it?

    Sticky Board & HopGuard

What would be the acceptable maximum 24hr varroa count on a "Sticky Board" after 24 hrs? Have treated with HopGuard for 2 weeks. Will put on 3rd treatment today.
