    The cost of the seed is much cheaper about 70 bucks but I need to pay the farmer for his time and fuel. Its a rough estimate.

    I like the idea of mixing the clover with other plants so that the blooms extend the nectar flow. That is definitely the way to go. Also Alfalfa does seem to have a very long bloom and nectar flow...

    The rock salt wouldnt be used for the bees to feed on , it would de used to prevent precipitation in the hive during the winter

    Nucs do come in deeps or mediums but usually in mediums. I suggest you find your local beekeeping club to find a supplier of nucs.
