My wife has M.S. and that is why I started keeping bees, she thinks it helps her.
We have been stinging off and on for 3 years.
The first year I sqeezed the comb with my hands over a kitchen strainer.
The second year I rented an extractor from the bee lady here in town.
This year I got an 6 frame radial extractor !!

You can put it on now.
In the fall they seem to fill it faster.
Last year we had 2 queens in the observation hive one was laying alot and the other one mostly walked around being cared for and laying sometimes.
After about 3 weeks we had only one.

They are getting nectar and pollen.

The blue rubber dishwashing gloves worked good for me ... cheap and reusable did not get a sting with them on after a while stopped using gloves at all, still use a veil and a suit sometimes

I built an Observation hive last spring and it is 9 frames, 3 tall and3 wide with the top 3 being mediums.
It was made with a 2 by 6 pine board for frame spacing I hade some extra 9 frame spacers...
One to the front and one to the back to prevent drifting from one to the other.
