    Ant problem

    Try sprinkling ground cinnamon around the hive, ants don't care for it but bees don't mind it. Reapply every few days or after a rain storm.

    Marking tube

    I didn't use a marking tube, but I did use the same paint. It just seemed like she was doomed as soon as she was placed back in the hive. I won't be marking Russian queens again.
  11. Wood Preservative

    Never tried that, I have been using a green preservative called Copper Napthanate. You can get it at lowe's.

    Moving frames within the hive

    Is it recommended to move frames within the hive to promote the bees draw out comb on new foundation? Or just let the bees move from frame to frame on their own. This is a new hive of about 4 weeks...
