Re: Frame dimensions for a frame holder

    inside of the box body is 18 & 3/8 inches (19 & 7/8 - 1 & 1/2= 18 & 3/8). the frames set on 3/8 inch rests each side. So you should be OK at 18 & 1/4 inches in between rods.

    Good Luck

    Oldtimer, Thanks for the notice.

Was not talking about me getting any feed back from Mods. Was noticing that another newbie was called out for having a point of view & being new.

Re: Swarm commander: Does It Really Work?

Nice set of videos. How do you get so many swarms come to you in what looks like all concrete? Is there beekeepers that don't care all around you? Or do you just let your hives swarm when they want?...

Re: Swarm commander: Does It Really Work?

I also will try it this year.

Even if it is 'Lemongrass' + it will make applying it simpler & 1oz of LG cost me $12 at the Whole Foods store.

This late in the year & that many stings I would think 'Yellow Jackets', but if the neighbor thinks yours did it, you might always get blamed!

"The New Starting Right With Bees" a beginner's handbook on beekeeping, 21st Edition. Published by The A.I. Root co.. I think mine was $10 or $15.

She will most likely be on a frame that has a LOT of bees, not frames with only a few.

Start away from where you are standing and work the frames toward your self. This was the single most helpful...

Re: Brood boxes frames stuck together

Suit up use a little smoke & slow down. Some hives just fly a lot when you open them up. Some are just mean! If you feel safe you can deal with whatever you need to do.
  25. Poll: Re: Do you believe that glued frames are stronger than non-glued?

There is one very good reason (?) for not using glue on hive bodies and frames. If you have a frame or a hive body that needs repair it is much easier to repair the frame without scraping old glue...
