My first year I got about 4 gallons from my hive. I'll second the recommendation to start with two hives.
Can you clarify? I have a Class C, but didn't know it gave me a higher gvwr. I thought it was only for 16+ passengers or hazardous materials.

If you split it, you have plenty of time for them both to build to full strength before winter.
It is, it has around 350K miles and finally needs a new carb, the motor's never been touched. It was my first truck.
I wonder if the HBH in the feed contributed to the robbing.

I started last year with one hive of Italians, and several months later split a couple of frames off with a BeeWeaver queen. The BeeWeaver hive never got all that strong last fall- not unexpected...
Three of us bought a total of 6 packages this year, we're all new beekeepers. So far no problems with any of them that I know of.
