    Re: Dadant Shipping

There are not may things I don't just buy online. Bee supplies is one of them. I always call Dadant, TX or Mann Lake and always get my goods within a 1-2 days from Dadant or 4-5 days from Mann Lake....

    Re: Bee Attack

    Pretty much.

I’ve had old farmers tell me stories when they were mowing with a cab tractor back in the 70’s and 80’s run over a hive and have their windows covered in bees. Even Ross on here has...

Re: BeeWeaver Bees... Aggressive for you?

Same as Andrew said. I have 2 BW. One is 5 years old. During the dearth they are a tad feisty which can be expected but over all no issues. They are some honey making fools.

    Re: This was awesome!

I put the excluder back up hoping that it would keep them in, I figured maybe a swarming queen could fit through it, but the laying queen couldn’t. I looked under the SBB and don’t see any dead bees,...

There was a confirmed laying queen in the small swarm.

On a sad note. I just went and checked this morning and all the bees were gone.

    Re: This was awesome!

Meter bees were just a tad over 2 miles away. Those bees couldn't have fit in this meter. There is a large feral hive about 2-300 yards away. Guessing it's from them.

    Looked under the SBB prior...

20 years ago we had Johnny Cash, Bob Hope and Steve Jobs.
Now we have no cash, no hope and no jobs.

Orthene by Ortho works great. It doesn't have sugar in it and the bees won't mess with it.

Re: When is SPring flow and swarm season?

Bluebonnets bloom real heavy here. And just started this week. Though I am not sure if they are a good nectar source or not. They are bringing in lots of red BB pollen right now.
