IC. It takes kind of a special person IMHO to deal with the public in those retail bee businesses. But I know there is money to be made, it is just a talent (or perhaps patience) I do not seem to...
What are they doing to replace the pollination portion of their business? Pollination is typically 2/3 of my gross.
The reason we pollinate is that you can not build populations of natural pollinators at the farm/orchard. We come in and stay 4-6 weeks and are gone. After we leave... the spraying starts.... the...
Might be worth doing an inspection. Or even a mite count if you know how.
Bees only travel about 2 miles. It is not too hard to tell when you have been placing yards for a few years. A.Put 2 yards a mile apart and watch your honey yeild. B.Place two yards 4 miles apart...
I am not trying to be funny, but sugar will never be carbon free... it is made of carbon! White cane or beet sugar will have less residuals than brown sugar.
I've only had it once and I had it pretty bad.... through a lot of hives... I had it diagnosed by our State Inspector, so I am sure. All I did was wait for the honey flow... and it went away. Mites...
Backfilling... well.. could be. But I wonder if that queen did not get rolled in transport?
Passports? You talking about individual bees or truck loads of bees? Maybe you just need a smiley on that message? :)
I wonder if CAPS supplies it own patty.... perhaps requires it's use? Maybe he just has a beef with NutraBee.....? :)
Very Very roughly..... 1 Gal.
Isn't Sac Brood a viral disease? If so, an antibiotic would not help. Seems an inspector once told me the best thing for SB was a good honey flow....
Make that "Bree".....
I wonder if they are storing it, consuming it, or both. If storing it, I wonder what it's fate would be long term.
Yea... I'm curious too.... :)
Yea.... makes me wonder. What countries import honey? Which countries that import honey would accept without massive duties assigned to it? And what could you get for it..... I think this needs...
$625,000 will get you 1.1 million lbs of honey. 56.8 cents per lb...... 1666,67 barrels of honey....
Just got to get it out of the country.
Never seen Amitraz do that..... better look for other causes.
Three days ago they said they were shipping on 5/23.
Forget this info... I misread and thought you were referring to queens... sorry.
Heh. Yea it's always an interesting reaction that people who own town hives have when they discover that their town bees are enthusiastic dumpster divers. Honey is an amazing concoction....
How many town hives are there?
How many country hives are there?
Do you happen to know what the poison was?
Yea.. I understand that. I'm the same way myself. But a number of years ago I went out and rented a 753 bobcat and having never used one... I unloaded most of a semi of bees. Another guy was also...
Can you give an example of poisons being sprayed on pet food by big name pet suppliers? I assume this would be done for storage purposes.
Phosphene..... long gone PH3..... highly volatile stuff. Now... the neo's might be another matter... course he may be using garden corn seed....
