Most beekeepers with bees on pallets (myself) use the open entrance. I have never seen a closed entrance used with pallets. However with pallets bees moving out on the entrance is not a big deal....

Thanks for the information. I have been considering giving a brewers yeast mix a try.
We use a cement mixer and have been using HFCS & one of the substitutes sold by the bee supply...
