I run cut comb, so my first choice is wedge top. Pull the wedge off turn perpendicular and nail on. You now have a starter strip for natural comb. :) Saves money on foundation. :) :)

Sorry ..auto correct on the phone is a pain sometimes
Yep. Got my first and last from them a few years back. Hottest bunch of brood I ever got. Sticking with Strachan Varnish. Gentle as heck. A real joy to work with
Looking for land to lease/rent, in the Greenville, SC area, to put bees on.
Thanks
I was so excited to find it I didn't pay attention. Lol I picked mine up at Barnes and Noble.
More specifically, it is the Grit country skills series. To be DISPLAYED until September 3, 2012. It...
The September issue of Grit Magazine is dedicated to backyard bees and honey. It is packed front to back with great info! This is definitely a newbee must have!
I tried the sandal thing. Not good if your toes aren't sensitive enough to feel your girls between them. Several stings between the old toes cured me of that.
Later in the season, as your hives...
Too much isn't a bad thing. Your girls will eat what they need, and take care of what needs to be taken care of. :)
I'm feeding the girls in the back of my house. The ones on the outyard are loaded and don't need my help. :D
It's probably a combination of the dearth and the crappy weather.
Small typo:...to create you first bee yard. If you're already logged in then follow the links to at the top of this page to your bee yards or your account. ENJOY!
Definitely change out the pic in...
LOL!! I guess that could be taken two ways. No, it was not on purpose! I was loading tree stands and got my finger caught between them. Normally, I would have been holding my finger in pain, and...
I'm not anywhere near the pain your wife is in, but I do have a bit of "Arthur" here and there. The several times, let's just leave it at several, that I have been stung, I've noticed that little to...
Mark, you hit the nail right on the head!
I'm not a doctor, but I think ANY reaction to a sting is an allegic reaction.
Are you trying to get away from customer issues, such as dissatisfaction?
Thanks for the heads up!!
Kroger has a sale on their Domino sugar. If you buy (10) 5 lb bags you can get them for $2.99 each.
Could you define early? Is it before bloom starts or sometime afterwards?
Exactly! Even Latshaw has reasonable prices. 4 queens for $2000 ($500 each). I won't be paying $3000 or even $2000 for a queen. They do make the others look cheap, though.
How precious! Congratulations!
Another dead giveaway is the sound. I don't even notice much of a buzz during orientation flights. During a swarm, however, you'll definitley hear a LOUD buzzing as they start to move away from the...
Yet, another vote for Strachan. Top notch.
Our drain has been kinda stinky. I mentioned pouring some baking soda down it to help the smell. My 4 year old granddaughter heard me, "Bacon soda?!?! I want some Bacon soda!!"
I assume you are talking bee-wise, not equipment-wise.
As Michael stated, the equipmet cost is about the same. What's different is the amount of bees.
