this makes sense. however, i was lucky enough to open the hive yesterday as it was warm. it is rainy and drizzly today and for the next 4 days. i could open today in about 2...
my bees are doing an amazing job so far. 1 week and i have 6 top bars with perfectly straight comb.
i went in mid day yesterday to take a peak and pull out my first comb ever...just to look at...
it appears all they're doing is smiling. it seems they're content in their house.
i'm quite happy and impressed with these top bars with the starter strips

my panic was for naught.
things look great in the hive. upon further inspection last night from the window i discovered some good looking comb...empty and pure white for now...i suspect...

my girls are just as beautiful as can bee.
i'm a happy newbee for sure. all seems to be going well ...they're sticking around.
i'm getting some lavender, lilac and thyme and some more...
ha! yeah a great hive from beethinking ;) i think next year i wanna try a Warre from them. we'll see though. let's just keep it simple for now.

how long will that sugar/water solution keep? should i take it out if i notice it's not being used up quickly?
one thing i thought that was important was making note of how many top bars should be in there to start with....
10 without a feeder and about 15-16 bars to start with depending on the size of the...

i'd couple that with use ideas WITH plans.
there are great many good plans available, but you could cherry pick the best from them and go from there.
i second the idea of using the michael bush plans

my idea for the placement was this location offers lots of morning sun and evening shade and it's right between two cherry trees and bunch of lilacs. i think it's sun exposure is pretty darn...
