Re: 500 hive operation Honey extraction line

Has anyone used the Paradise Honey wax press and are they just as good as a spinner or spin float? http://paradisehoney.net/en/honey-wax-press-system/
    I think propolis-etc is a dealer from what I...

Re: 500 hive operation Honey extraction line

Thanks everyone. I will try to keep my eyes open for something next year, this year is not a good year to buy these major pieces of equipment.
First thing is to get the Honey house built. Then see...

500 hive operation Honey extraction line

What equipment would be best for an operation that has 500 production hives ?

I looked at the Cowen line of extractors and setups, they are nice. 28 frame manual Cowen seems reasonable, except...

    Re: buying a cappings spinner?

From what I have read and depending on your method of harvesting, I found an average of 1:100 meaning 1 pound of wax for 100 pounds of honey. I might be wrong but it must be somewhat close.
    The...

    Re: buying a cappings spinner?

Well okay thanks for totally confusing me about the junior :pinch:
I will have to do some more research on what machinery is the best for my operation, I intend on going to 450-500 hives maximum, I...
  7. Re: How to deal with backfilling properly and Fast

I am building my numbers up because I am going full time beekeeping next year and I want more hives for pollination ( which I see no end to how many you can rent out ) and also to keep some at home...
  8. Re: How to deal with backfilling properly and Fast

My problem is that I haven't enough equipment for that many more hives, I am buying as many boxes as I can afford for honey supers (200) with preassembled frames and I have around 200 mediums of my...

    Re: buying a cappings spinner?

Okay so I guess it's a Junior spinner for me this year :)
  10. Re: How to deal with backfilling properly and Fast

If the ones that are backfilling the nest will be the best looking next spring, I will have a lot of nice hives

What makes them turn into better hives, if you don't mind me asking ?

    Re: buying a cappings spinner?

I see, I just went to Maxants site and read that the "senior" spinner is the one you can uncap right into the basket, the junior must need the cappings drained first.
    Thanks
  12. Re: How to deal with backfilling properly and Fast

Yeah I wish I had 2-300 frames of drawn comb for deeps, it would help out a lot. That is my reason for putting 1 or 2 deeps on for honey this year. We don't have a huge amount of hives, right now...
  13. How to deal with backfilling properly and Fast

What is a good way to help out my hives from backfilling so darn much, I have added supers, usually 1 deep or 2 and some 1 medium , some are drawn comb and some aren't.
    I have recently went through...
