    I did the splits thing this spring, One swarmed anyway. the swarm was only
    about 40 feet from the hive , straight up in a big fir tree.
    That is the one i tried to coax down to my traps.

    Dose any know that when Bees swarm Just how far will they go?
    And will they settle for a place close to there own aperies?
    when Mine swarm I have 5 swarm traps close, and they still go

    Laying worker

    I have a hive with lots of bees but a laying worker. Can I put a frame from a different hive with a swarm cell on it
    in there and will the new queen replace the laying worker?

    I learned that you need 2 or 3 holes in the inner
    If you are feeding raw sugar on the top of it in the
    Winter. One of mine plugged the hole with dead bee
    So the hive starved out in the spring.

    I extract about 10 westerns a year. this is how i do it.
    First i use a uncapping fork.it takes a little longer then a hot knife. but I don't get much wax
    in with the capping'. I buy nylons for $.99...

    Moving swarm calls
