    Drone removed

I have a few hives that are removing drone brood and wanted to know if anyone has any ideas as to why? Is this considered a desirable trait or is this a sign of a big problem?

I got popped in the lower eyelid the other day, that was the worst I ever reacted to getting stung. They do get testy this time of year.
