    Winterizing in the South

    I am in Georgia and have SBB on my hives. Do I need to cover them with foam or
    a thin board or does it get cold enough here to worry about, it's my first winter with bees.

    Yes I do have a SBB. Inspecting the bees when I first got them 10 days ago I did not notice any mites. I will keep an eye on it.

    Just got my bees 14 April. A 5 frame NUC. I was thinking I should add a second brood box in about a month
